The Web turns 30 years

Although the Internet had existed since the 1960s, nobody had developed an easy way to connect to it and share information efficiently.

It was in 1989, when a physicist from CERN (European Center for Nuclear Physics) named Sir Tim Berners-Lee presented his first proposal for the web, an invention that would change the world completely.

In 1991, from "a vague idea", Tim Berners Lee, developed the HTML (HyperText Markup Language), the HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) and the URL system (Uniform Resource Locator), with which he launched the first website and put online the first server Hosting, with a NEXT Cube machine, by the way created by Steve Jobs, to which Berners called, World Wide Web system.

The first website, had no colors, no photos, no videos. There were no graphics or animations either. Only texts, hypertexts and a somewhat confusing set of menus.

But thanks to that first WWW today we can ask Google any questions we have, use Facebook and access millions of web pages.

30 years later, the web is an immeasurable and intangible network of documents, images and protocols that make up the web of information that grows by leaps and bounds.

"... The website has become a public square, a library, a doctor's office, a shop, a school, a design studio, an office, a cinema, a bank and many other things .... "Its creator Tim Berners Lee says.

Celebrate today March 12, the 30 years of the www !!!!
